A Message to our Fans:
As some of you may know, Whiplash Classic Rock has decided to call it quits. It's been a great run with the current lineup that's been together since early 2013. Ernie is looking to retire from his day job and devote even more time to his teenage daughter who is a talented multi-sport athlete. (Go Carmine!) And both Ernie and I have grown a little tired of hauling around the tons of equipment required to put on a rock & roll show. We love our fans and had great times playing music for you. Everybody in the band will continue to make music, but some of us just needed a break from the long gigs and the late night load-outs.
Rick & James have already moved on to a new project. Their new band is called Destination Unknown, and their first gig will be at the Dryden Bar on November 9. Go check it out.
Predicting the future is not an exact science. Just ask a weatherman. There may be a Whiplash reunion in the future if the right opportunity comes along. Until then, I've got a bathroom renovation to complete.
This website will remain functional until early December.

Music that kicks since 2006!
Whiplash is dedicated to bringing live classic rock to the people of metro Detroit. We search the classic rock songbook from A (Alice Cooper) to Z (Ziggy Stardust) to bring you songs that you don't hear on the radio every day. We play B-sides and forgotten gems that will keep your party rocking. We love the golden age of classic rock (Doors, The Who, Beatles, Cream) but we also pay tribute to our roots with songs from Chuck Berry, Johnny Rivers, and Elvis. Whiplash Acoustic presents a similar set list with an emphasis on acoustic tunes from the likes of Cat Stevens, Buffalo Springfield, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan.
Voted one of the top ten bands in the Greater Detroit area!
